Spinning wheel from Vest-Agder.Norsk Folkemuseums collection of artifacts contains approximately 160.000 objects from urban and rural Norway, dated from the 16th Century to the preesent. 

The Artifact Collection contains among other things furniture, farming and craft tools, folk dress, folk art, church art, portraits, toys and musical instruments. The museum also has the largest Samí collection i Norway.

 

 

Skhoes from the 1930s.Today, the museum mainly collects items from the 20th and 21th Century, mostly furniture, household utensils and domestic technology.

New musical instruments in the Collection

Norsk Folkemuseum has recieved 50 langeleiks from Nordiska museet in Stockholm. This triples our collection of this traditional folk instrument.
