The preservation and conservation of the collections is the main work of the Section for Preservation. This is often done in connection with the section’s work on exhibitions and the loaning out of artefacts. Collection management, storing and handling are also their responsibility. The section members are qualified in various fields and types of materials, such as collection management and storage, cultural historical material, furniture, painting, wood and textile. The section has had a common workshop of 290 m2 consisting of two connected studios.
Inquiries about conservation, loans and study visits are taken care of by the Section for Preservation.
